This Easter we look back at the cross when Christ took upon Himself the wrath of God in our place, died, and was resurrected on the third day. Defeating death and giving eternal life to those who repent and trust in Christ alone.
Please join us as we look forward to "THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST." This art exhibit is a form of worship by the artists who have contributed. You will find the truth of God's Word illustrated and expressed by a number of local artists.

We will also be having our first children's exhibit "THANK YOU JESUS!"

Art Under Glass Update

The Lord is so good!! As we stated in our last post about the greenhouse at NBS, we would rely on the Lord to bring us the people with the specific talents we would need for this huge task of repairing the green house. Well, we are praising the Lord for doing just that. John Hughes took on the task of leading this project and has been a huge blessing in moving forward and having a greater understanding of what we have to accomplish. A wonderful fellow servant in the Lord, Tom Carmichael (a metal worker and artisan) stepped up to help. Together, John and Tom worked out a plan to use the pipe that was already in the green house to build, in my opinion, the best scaffolding ever built!! One of our board members, Peter Pancho, helped in the construction of this amazing scaffolding and was blessed by the time spent with godly men serving our King with their skills.
With the scaffolding in place, John worked with yet another servant in Christ and employee of NBS, Steve Peters, to remove all the glass (except operable windows).
Next step wood work! Who will God bring next? I am so amazed by our God that he could use us! May He receive all the glory forever!
One more note--we have been able to accomplish all of this without using ministry funds! Thank you to all who have helped and given to this project.
We have come to know the faculty, staff, and students of Northwest Baptist Seminary and I can tell you that our heart is more for assisting this amazing seminary then ever! Please support them in prayer and giving when ever possible. The Word of God is going out from this place and the fruit is breathtaking! Thank you Lord for NBS!

God has answered prayer for SHEEP MINISTRIES and Northwest Baptist Seminary. The project is "Art Under Glass". We are so humbled and in awe of our Lord. We have been praying that the Lord would use us and give us office space. NBS needed someone to repair their green house. God was at work and we now have much needed office space located at the seminary, to work on our curriculum for the ABC program (click on art in the church right.) Our first big project will require God's bringing talented sheep together to serve through SHEEP MINISTRIES. We will be repairing the green house as a donation to NBS. Our artisans will be able to use the wonderful space for meetings, painting or sculpting, etc. The seminary students and faculty will be able to have a contemplative place out of the weather. To help in this project, contact Heather Pancho. If you would like to help with fund raising, (click on "fund raising" to the right.) We are just so happy to be used by God for such a wonderful group as that found at the Seminary and their passion for ministry.

The Word goes out!

We are blessed and amazed that God has brought us a new opportunity for SHEEP to be used by Him. We are currently working on Scripture Banners with art, for two mission church's in Brazil. The missionaries and the churches are very excited and we are anxious to get them sent out. Pastor Mark Suko, pastor of Discovery Baptist in Gig Harbor, WA, first approached us about the project. He says we have two more churches in Ukraine that are interested. We will post picture of the banners when we get them completed.

Beautiful sheep in the body of Christ have come forward by using their talents in sewing and painting to help in this. We are so grateful to God to let us see the ministry come together and the purpose to be "fleshed out." We pray that He will use this to bring more glory to Himself as it has already. Thank you for your prayers and support! More announcements to come! God is on the move and we are trying to follow as best we can. Keep praying for us that all we do will be God honoring and based on his Word. Don't forget to pray for these mission churches. We believe that the answers are of course, in the Bible . So what does the Bible say and how do we apply it?

Your artistic abilities have come from God and are to be used to bring Him glory. As we go forward with SHEEP MINISTRIES, following God's direction, we believe the next step is to put together a curriculum for learning how to use our God given talents for worship, edification and witness. The study will be used as a pre-requisite to art classes in the future Christian art schools of SHEEP MINISTRIES. So the question brings more questions and as we grow in our walk with our Savior; we seek Him for the answers. Please pray specifically for the next endeavor for SHEEP. If you believe God would use you in anyway for this or any other part of the ministry please let us know.

Worshipful and inspirational art exhibits will continue. Thank you for your prayers. A DVD is also coming that explains the ministry with a beautiful compilation of Scripture, art and music; we pray that this will be worshipful and a blessing.

ART IS CREATIVE EXPRESION

“Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” Genesis 1:26 & 27

We observe that our creator, the Master Artist, gave us the pre-requisites for art; such as, light, color, shape, texture, and dimension. Even more fantastic, He gave us, His image bearing creatures, the ability to see, hear, and feel these elements. To some He gave the talents to recognize the beauty and majesty of the revelation of Him; and then, the talents and desire to express these elements in the form of visual art. We call them artists.

To those of us who give our lives to Christ as our redeemer, we are compelled to bring all of our thoughts under the captivity of the obedience to Him. We are here to glorify God and to serve in the way the Lord has given to each person individually.

It is not important that the artist receives pleasure in producing the art; it is important, that those who experience the art, see God in it and that they are served by the artist.

The evangelical community is now recognizing this and is reaching out to artists to build up this heretofore, little understood group.

For this reason, SHEEP MINISTRIES is formed.

We Purpose to Glorify God by:

Supporting and building up the artists in Christ
Educating the Body of Christ, the Church
Educating artists
Mentoring
Presenting the gospel thru the arts

“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” Philippians 4:8

A prayer

Heavenly Father—We are overwhelmed by the recognition that you have allowed your finite creatures to see You in creation; that you gave us the elements for visual art and then gave us the tools necessary to see, hear and feel them. Moreover, you gave some to have talents to express You by the tools you gave. Praise You for the gifts.

Please show us how to bring awareness to your body of the possibilities for visual artists, as well as musical artists, to serve the church and to evangelize.
Please show us how to bring awareness to Christian artists that their talents and gifts are to serve You and help us to find ways to use the talents and gifts to serve—to present the gospel thru the arts.

Purify our hearts that we glorify You—that we stay within Your will. Forgive us when we stumble and fall short—show us our error.

Protect us from idolizing the creation and not the creator. Keep us from creatively expressing any image that is able to be used in a manner that does not honor You.
We put our trust in You and praise You for your mercy and grace through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
